Your nurturing is such an awesome balance between acceptance and involvement. How lucky Chris met you and what a great reminder that even though we can't always save the world all at once, a gesture can be fiercely loving. I recently was able to be an ally for a young person and it healed me maybe more than it healed them. You also made a great point that those affluent perfect looking kids got their own problems. I see that everyday. So many of them get money instead of attention and support and that kind of modeling can be lonely. Great first read in the morning. Makes me feel optimistic.
