It’s Never Too Late to Stop Feeling Shitty in the Present — The Past Is Over
Have you ever heard the expression, “It’s never too late for a happy childhood?”
They say that on Whidbey Island, an island off of Seattle. They might sell T-shirts with that saying, but I can’t remember. I haven’t visited Whidbey in decades. I‘ve been too busy trying to reinvent my childhood and make it awesome.
The first time I visited, I loved the saying. I thought, damn straight it’s never too late. However, decades later, when my childhood is even further in the rearview mirror, I think the saying needs a facelift.
It is certainly too late for a happy childhood because you’re a grownup now.
No amount of hairdye, wrinkle cream, and lemonade stand sales will transform you back into a child.
Don’t be discouraged. It’s too late for a lot of things that never happened to you.
It’s too late to have abs when you were twenty because you’re not twenty anymore. It’s too late NOT to cheat on your ex-wife, be there for your kids…
